Quigley Leads Bloomsburg Lacrosse to Win Over IUP

BLOOMSBURG- Kelsey Quigley (Lansdale/Methacton) scored seven goals, a career-high, to lead the Bloomsburg University lacrosse team to a 17-8 win over Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) rival Indiana (Pa.) on Wednesday afternoon. The victory improves Bloomsburg's record on the year to 7-5 overall, 7-3 in the PSAC.

In the first half, IUP quickly got on the board with a goal 1:18 into the contest. The early lead would be short lived, as Quigley scored her first goal of the game three minutes later. Angie Piccotti (Chalfont/Central Bucks West) added a goal that put the Huskies up 2-1, then Quigley added her second goal 58 seconds later to give the Huskies a 3-1 lead.

IUP scored a goal to get the score down to 3-2, but Bloomsburg proceeded to score six straight goals that ultimately put the game out of IUP's reach. Quigley scored two more goals during the string. Other Husky goal scorers included Picotti, Cara McGroarty (Pottstown/Pottsgrove), Kimberley Springman (Downingtown/Bishop Shanahan), Meg Taylor (West Chester/West Chester) and Erica Nevin (Haddon Heights, NJ/Camden Catholic). A late IUP goal made the score 10-3 in Bloomsburg's favor at the half.

In the second half, Quigley added three more goals, while Springman added two of her own. Piccotti added another goal and Cali Toms (Pottstown/Pottsgrove) got on the board with a goal that rounded out Bloomsburg's scoring on the day.
